Carlos Delgado slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at the ballpark as the Caracas
Leones beat the Dublin Pubcrawlers by the count of 4 to 2.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Delgado. He lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in
the 3rd inning, delivered a solo blast (his 12th of the season) in the 6th
inning and delivered a single in the 8th inning. Dublin threatened in the
9th but Caracas was able to put down the rally.
The win was credited to C.C. Sabathia(5-5) who went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing
1 run. Sabathia got relief help from Scot Shields who gained credit for his
7th save. Carlos Zambrano(7-5) was given the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 10
hits in 8 innings.
'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Adam Smith 'But we have
to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
